Wrap-up: 7th Annual ICCD Pirate Adventure

Picture2

We had a great time at the International Coastal Cleanup day at JB’s Fishcamp yesterday. AND e celebrated International Talk Like a Pirate Day with pirate goodies.  🙂  Every year, ICCD engages volunteers around the world and assist the Ocean Conservancy in collecting important data about debris in and around our waterways, and we are proud to be part of this tradition.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAVolunteers picked up bottles, cans, bags, mylar balloons, food wrappers, cigarette butts, and assorted pieces of plastic, foam, and glass.  After sorting the items and documenting them for the Ocean Conservancy’s research, and a playful dip in the ocean we had a fabulous lunch at JB’s fish camp.  We’re already looking forward to next year!!

We were very saddened by the news that John A. Bollman, founder and owner of JB’s Fishcamp passed away recently.  Our thoughts are with his family.  JB’s has served as home base for many of our events, including kayak tours, beach trips, Canaveral National Seashore bike rides, and sometimes just a trip to New Smyrna for lunch at JB’s. 🙂  We’re grateful for all of the good times and look forward to the continued legacy being carried on by the fishcamp managers.
